Information for lecturers and class participants
This page is for people whose voice may be in a Noteway class recording. It explains what we process and how to object.
What Noteway is
Noteway is a study app for university and school students. It turns a class recording into a transcript and notes.
A person attending the class records it, only for their own study. That person owns the recording and the notes, not Noteway.
The app shows a timer for the whole recording. There is no hidden recording mode.
What we process and where
We process the class audio, including your voice, and its transcript. The transcript only tells two roles apart: “Lecturer” and “Audience”. We don’t work out who is speaking and we don’t store voiceprints.
We keep accounts, transcripts and notes on a server in Poland. Recordings sit in EU storage.
Cloudflare carries traffic to Noteway and decrypts it on its servers, possibly outside the EEA. Some providers (including AI, email and infrastructure) work outside the EEA, mainly in the USA. The basis is the Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
We list every provider and where it processes data on the sub-processor list.
